Some of our installations
We present here some of our chassis dynamometers installations in the field diagnosis and calibration.
Do not hesitate to contact us for further informations, also related to installations in other areas of business.
Double roller chassis dynamometers
The first generation of SportDevices power test benches, used the double roller solution. This technical solution spread on the market in the 1980s/90s, mainly for diagnostic applications, preferred by many users for the increased vehicle stability, brings with it a number of technical limitations, including a increased overheating and deformation (indentation) of the tyres, subjected to particularly stressful conditions during the tests.
Like all major test bench manufacturers, we have now implemented single-roller dyno test benches, capable of guaranteeing a less tyre wear and overheating, as well as higher top speeds, in a fully compliance with existing safety standards of test bench components
Single-roller chassis dynos
The new generation of chassis dynamometers with single-roller SportDevices, modular and flexible, is equipped with mechanical connection of axles (by a telescopic cardan shaft) to ensure the synchronism of the front and rear axles.
The cardan shaft linkage system is disconnectable, thus also allowing free axes to be worked on and independently. It is also equipped by wheel support rollers to speed up the loading and positioning of vehicles, on the dyno test bench.
QUICK AND EASY TESTING WITHOUT DYNO MODE
Reproducing road operating conditions on the chassis dynamometer means testing vehicles without wasting time, such as having to loof for (and activate) specific vehicle software functions such as the 'DYNO MODE' (roller bench mode), also ensuring avoid any kind of damage to the vehicle and its transmission system.

Exhaust gas extraction systems
In our collaborations with some of the historical companies in the power testing and testing equipment sectorwe created a full range of accessories related to air and smoke treatment.
These include, high-temperature smoke extraction systems (1,200 °C) designed and optimised to meet the needs of roller test bench users..
They offer performance and features quite different from classic workshop systemsnormally designed to operate vehicles at low (idling) speeds and without engine load (with operating temperatures below 250 °C).
Durability and reliability over time, first and foremost.

Soundproof engine testing rooms
We design and implement engine and chassis dynamometer test cells, also to meet the needs of the homologation sector.
Designed and manufactured for allow operators to carry out tests and inspections, in full compliance with current occupational safety regulations, it also makes it possible not to disturb other operators who may be present in the same environment. The cabin, in standard version, includes:
- Door with panic opening and visual window
- Internal ventilation and flue gas extraction
- Lighting, electrical and emergency lighting systems
- Certifications, as requested by the reference bodies
Vehicle ventilation and engine cooling
We have a wide range of engine and airbox ventilation systems for both car and motorbike benches.
These can be managed directly by our control and acquisition systems, dedicated to:
- Diagnosis, calibration and tuning (Sport Devices)
- Engine and vehicles homologations
Both types of control system, allow both engine cooling and air extraction systems to be managed.
Directly from the bank's control software interface (or its remote control) you can also manage any proportional speed control inverters of fans (when installed)
Wheel support rollers
All models of single-roller power test benches for cars 2WD and 4WD, may be equipped with wheel support rollers on the front axle.
This additional roller facilitates loading and positioning of the vehicle to be tested, so allowing to:
- to optimise operating time in loading/unloading vehicles
- Guarantee greater security to operators.
- Allow a single operator to load and position the vehicle correctly
Each test bench model, thanks to the in-house design office, it can be customised in its mechanical aspects.

Upgrading existing dyno test benches
With our control systems, both standard and type-approved, we can restore and update existing test benches, both inoperative and very old.
By recovering the mechanical parts, you can breathe new life into your test bench, with a state-of-the-art system

Modular products, for progressive investment
The SPORTDEVICES chassis dynos, offer a flexible and modular system.
This allows a progressive investment over time, being able to, for example:
Buy the 2WD. By adding, at a later stage, only the necessary parts, we will obtain the version 4WD, already equipped (or simply prepared) for the future installation of the mechanical connection system of the front and rear axles.

NEW INSTALLATION IN MARANELLO (MO)
Welcome Macauto Tyre Division to our family! In early 2023 MACAUTO installed a Sport Devices 4wd, axle-bound power test bench. A roller test bench designed to offer ease of use and safety, in addition to the typical completeness of functionality of the Sport Dyno software, combined with a data acquisition system capable of 32 analogue channels. A reliable system, supporting up to 3 screens in Real TIme, for a test room that can be fully customised to suit your needs and professionalism.
