margin: auto;\"><div class=\"sc_section_inner\"><h6 class=\"sc_section_subtitle sc_item_subtitle\">Theory<\/h6><h3 class=\"sc_section_title sc_item_title sc_item_title_without_descr\">HISTORY OF CHASSIS DYNAMOMETERS<\/h3><div class=\"sc_section_content_wrap\">\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element  vc_custom_1685083372411\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><strong>THE FIRST (INERTIAL) ROLLER TEST BENCHES<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first generations of chassis dynamometers, <strong>based their measurements on the concept of inertia, limiting themselves to developing benches with very heavy rollers, equipped only by an rpm sensor.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not being equipped with a brake and load cell, <strong>these types of test benches provided approximate and not very repeatable performance measurements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A fixed inertial mass<\/strong> (heavy rollers), such as that of the inertial bench, <strong>cannot in any way be adapted to the different powers to be tested<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Not being able to guarantee constant acceleration times<\/strong> during the tests (and adapted to the type of vehicle and power), an inertial bench <strong>cannot guarantee repeatable and accurate results<\/strong>, (except in a narrow range of powers, for which the inertial mass of its roller is adequate to reproduce the acceleration times we would have on the road).<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>basic concept, <\/strong>to keep in mind when carrying out power tests, is that<strong> a load must always be applied to the motor to simulate the same acceleration <\/strong>(or rather the acceleration time)<strong> that we would have on a flat road with an even surface and no wind.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Precisely to meet these needs, <strong>dynamometric brake benches are born<\/strong><strong> to eddy currents, <\/strong>equipped with<strong> load cell.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><strong>BRAKED ROLLER BENCHES<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Starting in the 1980s, <\/strong>precisely in order to improve the product,<strong> the first roller benches equipped with eddy-current brake and load cell appeared on the market, <\/strong>capable of offering<strong> excellent repeatability <\/strong>and<strong> measurement accuracy <\/strong>(a.k.a. braked test benches)<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Such benches, thanks to their greater reliability, versatility and repeatability of results, immediately find their way onto the market;
