margin: auto;\"><div class=\"sc_section_inner\"><h6 class=\"sc_section_subtitle sc_item_subtitle\">Theory<\/h6><h3 class=\"sc_section_title sc_item_title sc_item_title_without_descr\">POWER CORRECTION FACTORS DIN, CE, SAE, ISO<\/h3><div class=\"sc_section_content_wrap\">\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element  vc_custom_1683617514756\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>To give a <strong>correlation to power<\/strong> found on a dynamometer test bench, <strong>to the conditions that would prevail on the road<\/strong>, it is necessary <strong>apply correction factors<\/strong> to the measured power.<\/p>\n<p>They are determined by several<strong>standardisation institutes,<\/strong> including, for example:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>DIN<\/strong> Deutsches Institut f\u00fcr Normung<\/li>\n<li><strong>SAE <\/strong>Society of Automotive Engineers<\/li>\n<li><strong>ISO<\/strong> International Organisation for Standardisation<\/li>\n<li><strong>JIS<\/strong> Japanese Industrial Standard<\/li>\n<li><strong>ABNT <\/strong>Brazilian Association of Technical Standards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>EFFICIENCY OF ENDOTHERMIC ENGINES<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><strong>The power produced by an engine is directly related to the mass and quality of the air injected<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>in the cylinders<\/strong>, in the unit of time.<\/p>\n<p>The latter is in turn<strong> related to atmospheric pressure and temperature values. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The release of energy in a combustion process depends on the presence of oxygen alone.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, <strong>also the change in humidity or presence of different gases, <\/strong>can lead to <strong>variations in developed power <\/strong>that, in an engine, <strong>is always directly proportional to dry air pressure.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>E.g., the drop in power that occurs in the mountains, <\/strong>as you go up, it is due to the fact that<strong> the density of the air progressively decreases as you go up in altitude. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Each litre of air sucked in by the engine will contain fewer oxygen molecules, thus causing a decrease in the amount of fuel that can be burned\u00a0<\/strong>and thus the amount of thermal energy that is released by combustion (= less engine power).<\/p>\n<p>Or think of a <strong>engine test room without an adequate air recirculation and cleaning system<\/strong>;
